Today has been a day in planning for many months. Late last year I was approached by Buckinghamshire Council to host a series of art workshops collaborating with my good friend and renowned artist Rachel Gadsden celebrating Buckinghamshire and Stoke Mandeville Hospital in its pivotal role as the birthplace of the Paralympic movement. Today we visited our first school in high Wycombe Buckinghamshire and worked with students from years three and four. Rachel and I gave A live poetry and art presentation, which the children loved and gasped in amazement when the artwork was revealed. At the end of the workshops the children created their own art and poetry which will be featured in a larger exhibition that Rachel and I will create once we visited all of the schools. Here’s some images from today.
